Deirdre Cotter
Deirdre Cotter RSMET is a Registered Integrative Somatic Attachment Trauma Therapist and Educator, in private practice in the West Cork area and online.
​
With a background in Community Development, Counselling and Support Group Facilitation, Deirdre has also worked for over thirty years in the fields of, Somatic Education, Dance, Embodied Performance and Body-Mindfulness practices. She was assistant to Joan Davis www.gorsehill.net/about/ and associate tutors on the ORIGINS training programme 2012-2015 www.gorsehill.net/origins/ and assisted Joan Davis on the Foundation Course in Somatic Studies 2007-2009.

​​She committed to the apprenticeship programme of ‘Original Nature’ www.gorsehill.net/original-nature/, a mentorship in deepening witness practice under Julia Gombos https://disciplineofauthenticmovement.com/faculty/julia-gombos/ and Joan Davis, that ran in conjunction with the three year course.

Deirdre offers one to one therapy, integrating nervous system regulation, developmental/attachment trauma repair (including embryological and birth developmental stages) and life tools for resourcing inner and outer relationships, emotional resilience and mindful mental health.
​
She also offers somatic psychology workshops, courses and classes in embodied integration, engaging the experiential fields of cellular awareness, embryology, body systems, developmental movement patterns, reflexes, guided somatic inquiry and art & creative processing, to develop full bodied awareness of our relational processes.
​
She is in continuous professional development, engaging with the evolving fields of Trauma Therapy, Interpersonal Neurobiology, Somatic attachment and Somatic Psychology approaches.
